Leaked Google Pixel 9 Is So Disgustingly Pink You Can Taste It

Another leak shows a Pepto Bismal-colored Pixel. Plus, some details on Google’s new AI offerings.

Did anyone else get force-fed amoxicillin as a young kid? I can still taste the chilled pink chalkiness to this day, lingering in my mouth hours after having taken a spoonful to help kill my strep throat. That’s the core memory storming into my brain after I saw this pink Google Pixel 9 leak circulate on 9to5Google. Or is it Pepto Bismal I’m thinking of?

Regardless, the hue of pink depicted on the next purported Pixel 9 does not exude “the next best flagship,” especially not with that protruding camera bar. It sticks out more than we saw in the leaks over the past year. You can see the full 13-second video over on Elon’s X, formerly known as Twitter.

Additional photos and videos in the thread give us a closer look at the rest of the Pixel 9’s chassis. The edges are flat and reinforced. That side profile gives serious iPhone vibes right down to the rounded corners.

The pink hue and the device shown in the short video remain alleged until Google officially announces everything next month. However, the video shows a Samsung Galaxy S24 banner in the background, which indicates it was taken at a carrier or phone store that got in its units a little earlier than all the rest.

It’s unclear which version of the Pixel 9 is depicted in the leak. Supposedly, Google will launch three models this year. The Pixel 9—the good version—will be the smallest of the bunch, and the Pixel 9 Pro—the better one—will pack the telephoto punch while still being pocketable. The best version will be the Pixel 9 Pro XL or something similar. Again, we have to wait for Google to make it all official. But we’ll find out soon enough.

Google AI

We may know everything there is to know about Android 15 thus far, but the new Pixel 9 will also come with some specially offered features, such as Galaxy AI on Samsung devices.

Noted leaker Kamila Wojciechowska published an “exclusive” over at Android Authority with apparent knowledge of what’s to come. We know that Google typically makes a big hullabaloo about its AI features, especially since Gemini received its rebrand.

Some of the features coming with the new Pixel 9 devices include “Add Me,” which ensures that everyone in the photo has an objectively shareable smile or expression before the shot is finalized. Android may also adopt a Microsoft Recall-like feature for the Pixel devices called Pixel Screenshots. Once you turn on AI processing, you can use AI to help you scour those shots based on their content. And, of course, expect more new image generation features to be announced alongside the Pixel 9 with a pop-out camera bump.
