There are pros and cons for the UK choosing to leave the EU on 23 June 2016 (Thursday). While it is a complicated subject, and there are negatives on both sides, The Paladin believes the choice is clear: BRITAIN – CHOOSE FOR FREEDOM.
The key reasons are freedom and wealth. In a dynamic free market, freedom generally leads to innovation and competition, which leads to wealth overall.
The key reasons for the UK to exit the EU, we see as:
- Less regulation:
The EU can’t impose its 1,246 laws on bread, 625 laws on coffee, 92 laws on footpaths, and 31 laws on toothbrushes on the UK, for example, if we are not in the EU.
- Can agree trade deals with other countries more easily:
The EU does still not have trade deals with the USA, China, Russia or India – which is remarkable. Little Chile at the bottom of South America, has trade deals with countries with a combined GDP three times that of the EU.
- Less regulation may lead to more innovation, and more growth:
Switzerland is not in the EU, and has the lowest unemployment rate in Europe, and the highest income per person. It is also home to some of the largest companies in Europe. While of course Switzerland is only a sample size of one, the state of its economy proves it is possible (not guaranteed but possible) that there is no economic loss at all from not being in the EU.
It is a tough choice. We do not for a moment deny that. It is not simple. But for the love of freedom, Brexit.
Brexit the Movie (below) is very informative. Note in the 19th minute of the video, that Britain has in total voted against 72 proposed laws in the EU. It has been defeated all 72 times. So, we have no control. Also note the comments on trade deals in the 58th minute.
