What started as a cilivised debate quickly turned into a “fact-checking” race led by NBC’s moderator Lester Holt. Many have predicted that he would go to such lengths with Mr. Trump, but no one could have imagined that Mrs. Clinton would have such an easy debate saying almost anything without any kind of interruption.
Dishonesty, as evaluated by a majority of Americans, seems to be a strong trait of the presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. This “attribute” was also very practical and frequently employed during the debate, on at least five occasions.

Finally the two most ridiculous fact-checks were about Mr. Trump’s supposed support for the Iraq War (Hillary Clinton voted for that war) and then Hillary blaming The Donald for Libya – which was completely within her responsibility as being Secretary of State at that time.
The NBC moderator’s behavior did not escape notice and was slammed on various social media platforms – turning this debate into a clash between liberals and conservatives on those sites.
A former MSNBC editor perhaps put it best: “Lester Holt is bringing shame on the great journalistic tradition of letting the debaters just fact check each other”. Read more…
