Bloody Mary: Origins

Deadline reports Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick, screenwriter John Stancari, producer Todd Slater and director Lane Shefter Bishop will team on Bloody Mary: Origins, a new horror film revealing the secret origins of the urban legend, Bloody Mary. Based on Hillary Monahan’s novel, Mary: The Summoning, the story is said to focus “on a group of teenage girls who discover an ancient spell that conjures the real Bloody Mary. When the terrifying entity pulls one of the girls through the mirror, she becomes trapped in the past living out the real Mary Worth’s last days. With time running out, the others must discover a way to save their friend in the past while vanquishing a terrorizing Bloody Mary in the present.”

The Crow

In a new interview with Empire, director Rupert Sanders described his remake of The Crow as “a scrappy indie movie.”

There’s nothing to do with Hollywood in this movie at all. It’s a very scrappy indie movie. [That’s] able to remain close to the centre and the darkness and the violence that’s in the graphic novel. The only reason we could do that is because it’s not a studio movie.
